False Announcements by Punjab Govt. To Withdraw Internet Taxes

Promise has been rendered several times by the high-ups and official announcement was made by Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif to withdraw 19.5% internet sales tax. Khidmat Card To Be Launched in Punjab Soon

Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif announced launch of “Khidmat Card”. He said that as an expansion of Qarza-e-Hasana scheme, a health insurance scheme and Rozgar bank will be introduced that will concentrate on helping the needy. “Khidmat Card” holder will be able to get a monthly allowance of Rupees 500 in the start and the allowance will be increased gradually to 1000 Rupees per month. In order to be eligible for the Khidmat Card, the applicant must enroll one of his children in a primary school otherwise he will not be considered as eligible. SDPI Report Says Balochistan Most Poor Province in Pakistan

5.87 Billion People in Pakistan are living a life below the poverty line. 46 percent of this poverty is present in rural areas while 18 percent happens to be in urban areas of Pakistan. The survey report “Clustered Deprivation” is released by Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI). United Nation Development Program (UNDP) also helped financially as well as provided technical assistance to SDPI for completion of this survey report. SDPI measures poverty using five dimensions – health, sanitation and water supply, education, household assets and satisfaction to service delivery. Nine Year Old Girl Saved from “Vani” in Mithanwali

According to Police, 30 years old man was accused of having illegitimate relations with a 26 years old woman. Both belonged to the local tribe Mandoos. Woman was the daughter of the local tribal chief. After getting knowledge of the relationship, woman’s family called panchayat and demanded that the man should be killed and all his property should be given to the father of the woman. Health Department of Punjab and College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) have different opinions on post graduate training in teaching hospitals in Punjab. Metro Bus Service in Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Multan

Official approval has been confirmed by the Punjab cabinet to initiate the Metro Bus project in Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The meeting was headed by Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif. Punjab Government has planned to launch mega sports event in upcoming year. Punjab Sports Festival 2012 is the Sports Board has extended the date of start of event by one week. To ensure registration of all participants, the Punjab Sports Festival 2012 shall now start from January 23, 2012 instead of earlier announced date of January 16, 2012.
