During the 2nd one day international match between Pakistan and South Africa in Dubai, Misbah became only the 3rd cricketer in the history to have scored 1000 runs in a calendar year. During the match when Misbah completed 14 runs, he achieved this milestone. Misbah Ul Haq is only 3rd in the world to have accomplished this task and he is the first ever Pakistani batsman to achieve this milestone.

This list is topped by Australian cricketer George Belly followed by Indian batsman Verat Kohli. Misbah Ul Haq became the 3rd in the list.

Throughout the year, Misbah Ul Haq has been performing as the backbone of the Pakistan batting line up and rescued the green shirts on various occasions. Unlike the other players in the Pakistani batting line up, he knows how to show responsibility and handle the pressure.

He has been highly criticized by the public on various occasions due to his slow batting but he shut his critics with his superb performance. He stands out among all the Pakistani batsmen.

Although his captaincy record has not been up to the mark and Pakistan team was unable to wrap up any major series win in test and ODI this year, but due to Misbah Ul Haq’s superb performance, he cannot be held responsible for the losses.

It is time for other players of the Pakistan team to take up the responsibility and carry out the tasks they are paid high salaries for.
